Final drive housing repair of JCB excavator
Cracked casing, mounting ring in final drive, flange in JCB machine. For a long time we have observed a problem with cracking housings, hydromotor mounting rings of JCB excavators. Housings break most often on models 8016, 8025, 8045, 8060.
Description of the problem
The reason for this damage is the track’s wheel base being too long. The track tensioning piston is too long and often causes the metal plate that fixes the hydromotor to the bend frame to bend. There is no one hundred percent solution to the problem. But you can prevent it or significantly reduce the time in which it occurs. To avoid this, operators should be advised against the consequences of turning the machine sharply on hard surfaces. Only then do such oblique stresses occur which, in the case of other machines, cause the track to fall, the drive wheel to quickly wear off. In JCB, however, the deflection of the mounting plate, which literally cuts us the entire mounting ring separating it from the driving motor housing. /Final drive housing repair/
Let us remember that this type of damage can be removed. It is possible to repair a cracked housing, but welding these elements will not bring results. Because after a short period of time the crack will reappear.
What should you do?
The way out is to unscrew the drive motor with the reduction gear. Not to unfold it to supply the entire device to a company specializing in regeneration of such damages. While waiting for the repaired device, carefully straighten the bent mounting plate. And check if the tensioning rod works in a straight line in relation to the place of mounting the engine. Clean everything thoroughly and Install the repaired hydromotor. Then enjoy its work and the cheap cost of regeneration compared to buying a new part.
Repairing such damage costs within 15-20% of the price of the new original hydromotor. After professionally carried out regeneration and ensuring that operators do not bend the fixing plates, this problem cannot occur again.
