KYB is a leading manufacturer of hydraulic components for agriculture, construction, forestry and material handling industries worldwide. The brand is known primarily for the production of shock absorbers. However, it also offers hydraulic pumps and control valves, as well as swing and travel motors for mini excavators, excavators, loaders, forklifts and agricultural machinery. KYB components are used in construction machinery operating in difficult field conditions. Of course, Kayaba travel final drive deserves special attention.
Piston motors
KYB offers axial piston motors for many different industries and applications. The piston motor has a variable displacement (2-speed) swashplate and incorporates a brake valve and mechanical brake. Hydraulically balanced piston motor ensures high-pressure high-performance operation. An offset-type 2-speed design ensures reliable changeover of the displacement by an external pilot control (speed ratios of between 1.5:1 and 2:1). The motor offers a built-in double counterbalance valve and shockless crossover relief valve, providing speed control and braking with minimum shock. Brake is automatically activated or released when the vehicle stops or starts. The case-rotation type gear reducer has improved durability and reliability due to high precision parts and an equally-loaded design. The motor uses heavy duty bearings to ensure long life. Floating seals also prevent dust or water from entering into the motor.
KAYABA travel final drive for mini excavators
As we wrote at the beginning – Kayaba deals with the production of hydraulic parts for mini excavators and excavators. It has final drives for mini excavators up to 6 tons. These are the models: MAG-12V, MAG-18VP, MAG-26-VP and MAG-33VP. The MAG series offers high torque engines for medium or high speed tracked vehicles. The MAG series models are equipped with a two speed change unit and parking brake unit. Two-stage speed change takes place at the same flow, which allows a wider range of speed control. Almost all models have an automatic two-speed system (except MAG-12) – the speed is automatically switched from low to high or vice versa, depending on the load.
Travel final drive advantages
Planetary gears are very popular because they allow you to freely chenge speed and rotation force. They are used especially in those machines that operate at high turns and are small overall dimensions. Their adventage is the mulitpoint drive transport. Thanks to which individual teeth in the toothed wheels are exposed to lower load. This affects the life of the planetary gear.
For years the use of planetary gearbox is the best method of drive transfer in tracked machines.
