The rubber track must be in perfect condition to run at optimum performance. Constant use of the excavator leads to deterioration of the tracks, and this may result in their failure. Working on damaged tracks can damage the undercarriage.
Worn tread
As the tread wears down, there is little or no traction of the track. This, in turn, causes slippage and is dangerous when working. Track tension may change with heavy use, which also contributes to loss of traction. Track tension should be checked regularly, preferably daily.
The outer surface of the tracks is also prone to cracks due to use. This can happen, for example, when working continuously on uneven, rocky terrain. When cracks appear on the tracks, the track must be replaced. Cracks can also form due to heat – to prevent this, park the machine away from direct sunlight if possible.
Oil leaks, e.g. gear or hydraulic, also have a destructive effect on rubber tracks.
Track size
Kupno gąsienicy o nieodpowiednim wymiarze generuje niepotrzebne koszty i wydłuża czas przestoju maszyny. Oto cztery wskazówki oraz wykres jak prawidłowo dobrać odpowiedni rozmiar gąsienicy:
A. Zmierz szerokość swojej gąsienicy.
B. Zmierz odległość od środka jednego ogniwa do środka następnego.
C. Policz wszystkie ogniwa.
D. Jeśli na Twojej gąsienicy znajduje się numer seryjny lub kod rozmiaru, zapisz go.
